Shampoos for dry hair. Champus para pelo seco: WELEDA & REDKEN.

¡Hola a todas!
Hoy os quiero enseñar dos de los champús que acaban de entrar en mi rutina capilar, y son champús completamente diferentes. Uno es mucho más natural que el otro, y son productos completamente diferentes, porque como sabéis, sigo buscando un champú que se adecúe a mi pelo que es seco, encrespado y con reflejos. ¿Lo habré encontrado?

Hi, everyone!
Today I want to show you two of the shampoos that I've just added to my hair routine, and they are completely different from each other. One is much more natural, and they are so different because as you know, I'm looking for a shampoo that suits my dry, frizzy, highlighter hair. Have I found it?

1. Weleda. Champú reparador de avena para cabello seco y dañado.
Este champú lo compré porque sigo decidida a encontrar un champú lo más natural posible y que funcione en mi pelo. Tras el fiasco del champú de Kiehl's, Weleda me parecía una buena opción. Cuesta unos 10€, contiene 190ml y se puede encontrar en un montón de sitios de Valladolid.

Como podéis ver en la foto, es un champú transparente, con un olor agradable, como a "campo", contiene avena biológica, y lo más importante: no contiene sulfatos, siliconas ni perfumes. 

Este champú "eco" funciona mejor que muchos de este estilo que he probado. Deja el pelo limpio, hidratado y con un olor agradable. ¿Su pero? Porque tenía que haberlo... Al no tener sulfatos cuesta mucho que haga espuma, y hay que aplicar muchísima (pero muchísima) cantidad cada vez que te lavas el pelo para conseguir una sensación de pelo limpio.

En definitiva, es un champú que no funciona mal, pero definitivamente no es EL CHAMPÚ para mí.

1. Weleda . Oat Replenishing Shampoo for dry and damaged hair .
 I bought this shampoo because I'm determined to find a shampoo as natural as possible and that works great on my hair. After the fiasco of the Kiehl's shampoo , Weleda seemed like a good option . It costs about 10 € , contains 190ml and can be found in a lot of shops in my city.

As you can see in the photo, is a very clear shampoo, it has a pleasant smell, contains organic oats , and whst's more important : does not contain sulfates , silicones or perfumes.

This  "bio" shampoo works better than many of its kind I've tried. Leaves my hair very clean, hydrated and smelling nice. So what's the "con"? Because there's got to be one ... With no sulfates it doesn't lather well, so you have to apply a lot (I mean a lot) of product each time you wash your hair to get a feeling of cleanliness.

It is a shampoo that works ok, but definitely it is not "my" shampoo.

2. REDKEN. Smooth Lock. Champú con termoprotección para cabello reco/rebelde.
Así es que tras comprobar que el de Weleda no era "mi" champú, volví a lo de siempre, champús con siliconas, sulfatos y perfumes, pero con un resultado muy bueno en mi pelo. 
Este champú de REDKEN lo encontré de oferta por unos 10€ y contiene 300ml. Lo podéis encontrar en muchos salones de peluquería de vuestras ciudades.

Es un champú mucho más denso y cremoso que el anterior, como podéis ver en la foto, emulsiona fácilmente y me deja en el pelo una sensación de limpieza muy agradable. Contiene aceite de almendra, pero detrás de un montón de esos ingredientes que no quiero ni mirar, pero que me dejan el pelo tratable y menos fosco de lo habitual. Tiene un olor muy agradable como a coca cola (perfumes añadidos una vez más), pero no perdura mucho en el cabello.

¿El resultado? Un pelo brillante, suave, sin encrespamiento y controlado. Funciona muy bien en mi pelo, pero el contener tantos ingredientes no deseados por mí, hace que tampoco sea "mi" champú.

2. REDKEN . Smooth Lock. Thermal care for dry/unruly hair.
So after checking that Weleda was not " my " shampoo , I went back to shampoos with silicones , sulphates and perfumes, but they work great on my hair .
So I found REDKEN shampoo in my town for about 10 € and contains 300ml. You can find it in many hairdressing salons in your cities .

It is a rich and creamy shampoo, as you can see in the photo, emulsifies easily because of the sulfates and leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean. Contains almond oil,  has a pleasant smell like Coke (added perfume again) which does not last long on my hair.

The result? A shiny, smooth and frizz-free hair. Works great on my hair, but it contains so many  undesirable ingredients for me, that it can not be "my" shampoo either.

Kiehl's Calendula Toner. Tonico de calendula.

La última vez que fui a Madrid, pasé por una tienda de Kiehl's y compré varios productos que tenía en el punto de mira desde hacía tiempo, hoy os traigo uno de ellos, el tónico de caléndula.

Last time I visited Madrid , I went to a Kiehl's store and bought several products that had been on my wishlist for a long time, today I'll show you one of them, the calendula toner.

El producto.
Tónico suavizante sin alcohol formulado para pieles normales a grasas. Contiene flores enteras y extracto de caléndula, alantoína, bardana, hiedra y genciana.

Su ingrediente estrella es la caléndula, cuyas flores enteras se pueden ver diluídas en el bote transparente, típico de los productos Kiehl's. La caléndula es una planta conocida por sus efectos anti-inflamatorios, por lo que este tónico está también recomendado para pieles con problemas, tipo rojeces. No contiene alcohol, y deja en la piel un ligero perfume como a infusión, muy agradable, que desaparece en seguida.

Se puede encontrar en dos tamaños, el mío es de 250ml. y tiene un precio de 38,50€.

The product.
An alcohol free soothing toner with herbal extracts for normal to oily skin . Contains whole flowers and marigold extract , allantoin , great burdock , ivy and gentian .

Its star ingredient is marigold, whose petals  can be seen floating in the plastic bottle. Calendula is a plant known for its anti -inflammatory propperties, so this tonic is also recommended for skin problems such as redness. It contains no alcohol , and leaves a slight and very nice scent of herbal tea on your skin though it disappears immediately .

It's available on two different size, mine is 250ml. and costs € 38.50 .

Mi opinión.
Tengo que deciros que este producto me fascinó en la primera aplicación. Eso de ver las hojas de caléndula flotando en el bote, y que salen fácilmente al impregnar el algodón, me parece algo tan distinto y novedoso que desde el primer momento ganó mis simpatías.

Es un tónico que deja la piel suave y limpia, y forma parte de un ritual de limpieza muy agradable. Hasta aquí, perfecto. Pero,  echando un vistazo más de cerca a la lista de ingredientes, encontramos: propylene glycol y pentylene glycol como segundo y tercer ingredientes, y methylparaben como cuarto ingrediente. No es que yo sea muy entendida en formulación, ni demasiado ortodoxa en cuanto a ingredientes de los productos cosméticos que utilizo, pero los parabenos no son ingredientes que yo desee en mi casa.

Para concluir, deciros que es un tónico que a mí personalmente no me ha funcionado mal, que me parece muy caro, y que probablemente no volveré a comprar, no cumple las expectativas, aunque intentaré terminar el bote sólo por lo que me ha costado.

My opinion.
I have to tell you that this product fascinated me from the first application. Watching the calendula leaves floating in the bottle it is really a new thing for me, I was attracted to this toner since the first time I saw it.

It is a toner that leaves my skin soft and clean, and it is part of a relaxing and nice cleansing ritual. So far, perfect. But, as with many Kiehl's products I've tried lately, they are not  that wonderful at all.

Taking a closer look at the list of ingredients we find: propylene glycol and glycol pentylene as second and third ingredients , and methylparaben as the fourth ingredient . It's not  that my knowledge on chemical ingredients is very high, or I am too orthodox in terms of ingredients on the cosmetic products I use, but I am aware enough to realize that they are selling a product as if it is natural, when in fact it is not.

Concluding, it's a toner that didn't work bad on my skin, which I find  incredibly expensive , and I certainly I will not be buying again , though I will try to finish the bottle only for the money I spent on it. Overhyped.

Mani of the Day: Dior "Perfecto, NARS "Stormbird".

¡Qué ganas tenía de que llegara el otoño! Por fin puedo utilizar los esmaltes ocuros, que son junto a los "nude", mis favoritos. La mani de hoy es muy sencillita. Os cuento:

Oh, boy, how I've missed autumn! I can finally use my favourite dark nail polishes, I've really missed them. Today's mani is really easy, let's have a look!

1. Limar, pulir y dar brillo a las uñas: yo he usado una de elf. Barata, porque a mí las limas me duran nada y ésta no es muy agresiva, ahora, no os la recomiendo si vuestras uñas son muy duras.

1. Shaping, polishing and buffing nails : I used an elf block . Cheap, works right and it is not aggressive with my nails, only for not very hard nails.

2. Base protectora de OPI: Natural nail Base Coat. La llevo usando un montón y no se acaba nunca, funciona bien, aunque cuando la acabe quiero probar otras.

2. OPI Protective Base: Natural Nail Base Coat. I've been using ir for a long time, and it lasts forever! Works fine, but I want to try some other options when I empty this one.

3. Esmaltes: he aplicado en todas las uñas menos en una el "Perfecto" de Dior, un gris oscuro con un ligero subtono azulado. Como todos los esmaltes de Dior, es muy cremoso, se aplica con mucha facilidad por su pincel, que es muy ancho, y con una pasada cubre bien, aunque yo suelo aplicar dos capas.

3. Nail polishes: I applied Perfecto by Dior on all my nails except one. Dark gray with a slight bluish undertone. Like all Dior nail `polishes I've tried, it is very creamy, easy to apply thanks to its wide brush, and only one coat is enough, although I usually apply two.

NARS Stormbird: Lo he aplicado en ambos anulares para crear un ligero contraste. En un gris más claro, gris "marengo", con una calidad excepcional, me gustan mucho los esmaltes de NARS. Cubren, son cremosos, y dejan un acabado perfecto.

NARS Stormbird : I've applied it on both ring fingers to create a slight contrast. It's a lighter grey shade, with exceptional quality , I really like NARS polishes, they are really opaque, creamy , with a smooth perfect finish.

4. Mavala corrector de esmalte de uñas.  Lo acabo de estrenar, perfecto para las más torpes como yo, que no pueden evitar salirse y mancharse los dedos.  Super recomendable, viene con 3 puntas de recambio.

4. Mavala nail polish corrector. Perfect for the most clumsy people like me, who can not avoid stain her fingers when doing a mani.. Super recommended, comes with 3 spare tips for replacement.

5. Mavala Colorfix. Top coat para dar mayor duración a la manicura, aunque en mi caso, incluso con top coat, no consigo pasar de 4 días. Sin top coat ni os cuento. Es un top coat denso, pero sin embargo se aplica con facilidad y deja un brillo en las uñas muy bonito.

5. Mavala Colorfix . Top coat that protects your mani from chipping and peeling and in my case, is a must if I want my nail polishes to last more than a couple of days on me. It is a dense and thick top coat though very easy to apply, and it also provides a very shiny finish.

Kevin Aucoin: The Prime Color Cream Eyeshadow in Decadent. Base y sombra en crema en color Decadent.

Llevo un tiempo en el que me he hecho increíblemente fan de las sombras en crema. Ya os he enseñado algunas de las que tengo, y hoy le toca el turno a una las que más tiempo lleva conmigo y a la vez una de mis favoritas: La sombra en crema de Kevin Aucoin en el tono Decadent. Os la enseño.

I have been incredibly fond of cream eye shadows lately. I have showed you here some of the ones I own, and today it's one of my favorites I'm showing you : Kevin Aucoin cream shadow  in Decadent. Let's see it.

El producto.

Es una sombra en crema para utilizar sola o como base para sombras en polvo. Su textura es de gel-crema, y el color Decadent es un marrón-bronce con destellos dorados.
Viene en un aplicador tipo boli y para conseguir que salga el producto, debemos girar la ruleta que hay al final del tubo. El aplicador tiene unos agujeros en su parte superior por los que sale la sombra. El envase contiene 4 gramos y es muy práctico y manejable.



The product.

It is a cream eye shadow to be used alone or as a base for powder ones. It has a creamy-gel texture, and Decadent  is a brown - bronze shade with beautiful golden shimmer.
Comes in a pen type applicator with small  holes in its top. The packaging contains 4 grams and it is very practical and handy.

Mi experiencia.

Llevo unos seis meses utilizando esta base ocasionalmente, a veces sola, aunque la mayoría de las veces lo uso tras el primer de NARS, después aplico esta sombra en crema y sobre ésta, la crema en polvo que elija. La sombra en polvo que más me gusta combinada con esta base es la Galápagos de NARS. Tienen unos destellos dorados muy similares, y esta sombra en crema hace que se potencien los matices de la Galápagos mucho más, el resultado es espectacular.



My experience.

I've been using this base occasionally over the last 6 months, sometimes just this cream eye shadow, although most of the time I used it after NARS primer, then on top of them, a regular shadow of my choice. The powder shadow I like best with this eye shadow is NARS Galapagos . They have a very similar golden shimmer, so it enhances Galapagos undertones, the final result is amazing.

Con luz solar directa. Direct sunlight.

Sobre la sombra en crema, deciros que es muy suave y cremosa y se aplica con mucha facilidad, yo lo suelo hacer con una brocha sintética pequeña o en ocasiones con el dedo, y se extiende suavemente sin tener que darnos prisa en hacerlo, porque tarda un poco en secarse. 

It is very smooth, creamy and super easy to apply, I usually do it with a small synthetic brush or sometimes with my finger, and it extends smoothly, though it takes a little for it to get dry.

Tiene una duración muy buena, a mí me aguanta (con prebase) perfectamente 8 horas sin meterse en los pliegues, sin embargo debéis saber que no es waterproof. Para mí ésto no es un problema, casi ningún producto de los que uso para maquillarme (a excepción del lápiz de ojos) es waterproof, por lo que  a mí me funciona de maravilla.

Its lasting power is great (with a shadow base) for 8 hours without creasing, however you must know that it is not waterproof . This is not a problem for me, almost every  make up product I use (except eyeliner ) is not waterproof , so it works great for me.

Luz artificial. Lamp Light.

El aplicador es lo único que no me acaba de convencer, no me gusta utilizarlo para aplicar la sombra, me resulta poco práctico y no muy limpio, prefiero cogerla con el pincel y aplicarla directamente.
Como os he dicho, es una de mis sombras crema favoritas, pero mirando en la web de Kevin Aucoin, he visto que la han retirado, ya no está en venta, menuda racha llevo... cada vez que un producto me funciona, lo retiran. En todo caso hay webs como Strawberrynet en las que aún se puede conseguir a un precio bastante razonable.

The applicator is the only thing I didn't quite like, it is not very clean or practical, I prefer to take the product with a brush and apply it directly on my lids.
As I said, it's one of my favorite cream shadows, but  unfortunately it's discontinued right now. In any case there are sites like Strawberrynet where you can still get it at a fairly reasonable price.

FOTD/ Maquillaje del dia.

Hace tiempo que no escribía un post sobre los productos que utilizo a diario, y aunque básicamente la rutina es la misma, los productos han cambiado bastante. ¿Os apetece verlos? Son lo siguientes:

I have not shown you a FOTD for ages, and although my routine is basically the same, the products have changed considerably. Do you want to see them? Here they go:

1. Polvos sueltos translúcidos de Sisley. Os acabo de hacer review sobre ellos AQUI. Me gustan mucho, aguantan fenomenal todo la jornada, perfectos para el día a día.

1. Sisley translucent loose powder . Review  HERE . I like them a lot, great staying power, perfect for a daily basis.

2. Naked Basics Palette de Urban Decay. Tras pensármelo durante mucho tiempo, porque tengo un montón de paletas, al final me decidí a probarla, porque son los colores que uso habitualmente y es una paleta a la que sí le voy a sacar partido. Aún así, debo decir que encuentro estas sombrás más "polvorientas" que las de las otras NAKED 1 y 2.

2 . Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I've been reluctant tu buy this palette for a while, because I already own Naked 1 and 2,  but I finally decided to try it, those colours are really my daily choice, so I have to tell you  it worths the money . Still, I must say that I find these shadows quite " dusty "compared to the texture of the shadows in  NAKED 1 and 2.

3. Chanel Correcteur Perfection. Corrector cremoso, mi tono es el B10, Beige Clair. Me ha costado cogerle el truco, al principio aplicaba demasiado producto y se me cuarteaba, ahora aplico mucho menos, lo trabajo un poco con la yema de los dedos y lo aplico a toquecitos. No está mal, pero no creo que repita, sigo buscando el corrector perfecto.

3 . Chanel Correcteur Perfection.  Creamy Concealer , my shade is  B10 , Beige Clair. I have been struggling with it, because I initially applied a lot of product and it creased immediately, but now I've found out that applying less product, and patting it on my undereye area works much better. Not bad, but I won't repeat , I'm still looking for the perfect concealer .

4. Too faced Full Bloom. Colorete en crema en el color Prim & Poppy. Compré este colorete en unos "Precios Locos" de Sephora por 10€, y aunque al principio el color me asustó un poco, aplicado con una mofeta pequeña (tipo 188 de MAC), queda super natural y dura un montón en la piel.

4 . Too faced Full Bloom Cream Blush in Prim & Poppy. I bought this blush during the sales in Sephora for 10 € , and although the colour is a bit scary at first, applied with a small brush (188 by MAC ), the result is super natural and lasts a lot on my skin.

5. Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper. Fijador de cejas transparente del que os hablé AQUI. es un imprescindible en mi rutina, ya que tengo unas cejas super rebeldes.

5 . Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper . Transparent Eyebrow gel reviewed HERE . It is an essential part of my routine since I have super- rebel eyebrows .

6. Clarins Perfilador labial en el tono Praline. Tono muy muy natural, lo aplico tras hidratar bien los labios, para conseguir subir el labio sólo un tono. No está mal, pero quiero probar con alguno más oscuro.

6. Clarins Lip Liner in Praline. A really natural shade , I apply it after moisturizing my  lips thoroughly. Not bad, but I want to try a darker colour for these next months.

7. Mac Lustre Drops. Iluminador líquido en el tono Pink Rebel. Un iluminador muy parecido al High Beam de Benefit. Tiene un aplicador muy estrecho y práctico, y deja un acabado muy sutil aplicado en su justa medida. Perfecto para avivar cualquier piel apagada o cansada.

7 . Mac Lustre Drops. Liquid Illuminator in Pink Rebel. Very similar to Benefit High Beam . It has a very thin and handy applicator , and leaves a very subtle finish when applied softly. Perfect for tired or dull skin .

8. MAC Chormaline en el tono Blacktrack. La nueva adición a mi colección de delineadores (os hice una comparativa AQUI). Mucho mejor que el Fluidline de MAC o el Long-Wear de B.Brown, me resulta muy parecido al Aquablack CreamShadow de MUFE. me gusta su intensidad y su duración.

8. MAC Chormaline in Blacktrack. The new addition to my eyeliners collection (review HERE ). Much better than  MAC Fluidline or B.Brown Long -Wear , I find it very similar to MUFE Aquablack CreamShadow. I love its intensity and lasting power.

9. MUFE Face & Body. Poco más que deciros sobre este maquillaje de MUFE. Mi tono es el 32, y deja un acabado muy natural en la piel, cubriendo las pequeñas imperfecciones. Perfecto para primavera-verano, en los próximos meses tengo intención de sustituirlo por otra base más cubriente y de mayor duración, porque en mi piel su duración es de unas 5 horas sin retoques, y se me queda un poco corta.

9. MUFE Face & Body liquid foundation. Little more to say about this makeup by MUFE . My shade is 32. Leaves a very natural finish on my skin , covering small imperfections . Perfect for spring and summer , in the next months I am going to replace it by some other longer lasting and higher covering foundation, because this one only last for about five hours, not enough for a working day.

Kiehl's Superbly Smoothing Argan Shampoo

Antes de empezar el análisis de este champú, quiero que sepáis que tengo una relación amor-odio con la marca Kiehl's. he probado algún producto que me ha funcionado muy bien (Midnight Recovery, la línea de arcilla blanca...) y algún otro que no me ha gustado absolutamente nada (Powerful Strenght concentrate). 

Aún así, y a pesar de sus precios, cada vez que me paso por una de sus tiendas, no puedo evitar picar con algo; la última vez fue el champú del que os voy a hablar: Champú suavizante de argán.

 I have a love- hate relationship with  Kiehl's. I've tried some products that  worked wonders on my skin (Midnight Recovery, the Rare Earth range ... ) and some other that did nothing on my skin (Powerful Strength concentrate ) .

Still, and despite its price ,every time I pass by one of their stores , I have to buy something, can't help it! Last time I got the Superbly Smoothing Argan Shampoo.




El producto.

Champú formulado con aceite de argán procedente de comercio justo. Aparte del este aceite, contiene manteca de cacao, aceite de cártamo y aceite de sésamo entre otros ingredientes. 

No contiene sulfatos, ni siliconas ni parabenos, y está especialmente recomendado para cabello encrespado, seco, dañado y rebelde.

Es un champú blanquecino muy cremoso, produce bastante espuma, se extiende con facilidad y promete dejar el pelo sano, manejable, brillante y sin encrespamiento.

Se presenta en una botella muy práctica con un etiquetado simple y efectivo, como todos los de Kiehl's, y contiene 250ml a un precio de 17,50€.


The product.

Shampoo formulated with fairly traded argan oil. It also contains coconut oil  and sesame oil among other ingredients. Silicones, sulfate and  paraben free, it is especially recommended for frizzy , dry, damaged and unruly hair .
It is a very creamy white shampoo, it lathers well  and promises to leave a healthy, manageable and sleek hair.

It comes in a handy plastic bottle with simple but effective packaging, just like all Kiehl's products do, and contains 250ml for € 17.50 .

Mi experiencia.

Odio este champú. Os lo juro, no lo puedo soportar. He estado intentándolo durante semanas, dándole todas las oportunidades del mundo, intentando convencerme de que al principio no funcionaba en mi pelo porque no lleva siliconas, sulfatos o parabenes, pero no-lo-so-por-to.

Empezando por su olor, que es como a medicina increíblemente fuerte. Y lo peor es ¡lo que dura en el pelo! No se va tras aclararte ni tras la mascarilla ni tras nada. Un horror.

Ya os he comentado en otras ocasiones que tengo el pelo grueso, teñido, ondulado pero fosco, y con las puntas muy secas, en principio soy el objetivo perfecto para el champú. Pues no sé cómo actuará en las que no seáis objetivos, pero para mí es terrible.

 Normalmente me lavo el pelo un día sí y otro no, pero con éste producto es imposible, me lo tengo que lavar a diario. Es más, el primer día por la tarde ya noto el pelo sucio, no os hacéis una idea, no noto la sensación de pelo limpio nunca.

Y de suavizar, desenredar y desencrespar el pelo menos aún. Siento el pelo terriblemente fosco, apagado, sin vida. 

Lo siento señores de Kiehl's, pero definitivamente este champú es una de las peores compras que he hecho en los últimos meses, no lo compraría de nuevo ni loca, y mucho menos lo recomendaría. Así es que si estáis pensando en un champú "natural"  de este tipo y habíais pensado en éste en concreto, os aconsejaría que pidieseis una muestra antes para no llevaros el chasco que me he llevado yo.


My experience.

I hate this shampoo . I swear , I can not stabd it. I've been trying it for weeks , giving it every opportunity in the world, trying to convince myself that it did not work on my hair at first because it hasn't got silicones, sulphates or parabens, but that's not true. It doesn't work on my hair at all.

Starting with its ​​scent, a strong medical one which  lasts forever on my hair and doesn't vanish after a good rinse or hair mask or conditioner or anything at all!

As I have written before, I have thick, coloured, wavy frizzy hair, with very dry ends. Perfect target for this shampoo .Well I do not know how it works on some other not-target hair, but on my hair it is a nightmare.

 I usually wash my hair every other day, but with that's impossible with this shampoo, I have to wash it every day. Moreover, the first day in the afternoon my hair feels dirty again. In fact, I never ever feel my hair clean with this shampoo. Unbelieveble.

And of course it doesn't soften or dentangle my hair, it feels frizzy and puffy as always. Or more.

So sorry Kiehl's, but this shampoo is definitely one of the worst purchases I've made over the last months, I would not buy it or recommend it to anyone. So if you are thinking about a  "natural" shampoo like this one I would ask for a sample first before purchasing the whole 250ml bottle that is going to last forever on my bath stash.
